My approach to family session is very laid back. I want to get the images we are after organically. I do this by engaging them with silly questions and phrases, letting them lead when we can by letting them explore their surroundings, and having parents engage in play/songs with them. In my experience, the more commands we throw at the kids the more likely they are to get overstimulated and uncooperative, so I try to keep a chill, easy going vibe and keep playing at the forefront.

Some people want to capture the fresh newborn stage, which is totally ok! I actually prefer to do them around 3 months in, when babies are a little more smiley and engaging and parents are more settled in. But ultimately the timing is up to you.

I know how fast plans can change course with little ones, so I’m flexible with reschedules—you can simply apply your deposit to a new session at a date that works for you.

2-3 weeks, typically. A rush option may be available for an additional fee, depending on the time of year.

I go through all the images and select the best ones, which then get edited to look like my signature style (mostly applying color and lighting alterations). Things like skin retouching are available for add-on, just ask me!

I photograph our session on film cameras, the film then gets developed by a lab and sent back to me as digital files, which I then curate and create your online gallery with. They will be available to you as high resolution digital images, that can be printed and treated like normal photos.

I will help with curating outfit suggestion boards ahead of our session! The priority though is that everyone is comfortable and dressed appropriately for the weather.
